Kluskus IR 1 is not on Alert or in any immediate danger, this is just a community update regarding the fires in the territory. We will be posting updates as we receive them from BC Wildfire Service and the Fire Centres.
Batnuni Wildfire
Crews continue to respond to the Batnuni fire, where evacuation orders have been issued for some areas. At this time, there are no identified threats to the Lhoosk’uz community or the backup evacuation route.
G41092 – 11 hectares
A new wildfire, G41092, was discovered yesterday west of the community. The fire is currently estimated at 11 hectares and is classified as ‘out of control.’ It is located farther from IR1, with a lake between the community and the fire.
We are awaiting a further update and will continue monitoring the situation closely. Rain is forecast for the area, and we hope it will help reduce fire activity.
