Wildfire Activity Near Kluskus and Kluskoil: July 20, 2026

The Quesnel Fire Centre continues to monitor lightning-caused fires around Kluskus and Kluskoil and has crews working on several fires in the surrounding area.
Cooler temperatures and recent moisture have helped reduce fire activity. Crews had a very successful day yesterday, extinguishing four fires and bringing one fire near Batnuni under control.
Today, crews are focusing on fires south of Kluskoil. Additional resources are being assigned based on the location and priority of each fire.
The recent moisture has created an important opportunity for crews to make progress before hotter and drier conditions return later this week.
Lhoosk’uz Dené Nation will continue to provide updates via the Quesnel Fire Centre as more information becomes available.
