Kluskus IR 1 is not on Alert or in any immediate danger, this is just a community update regarding the fires in the territory. We will be posting updates as we receive them from BC Wildfire Service and the Fire Centres.
Wildfire update: The Province has not yet been allowing our community to be part of the province’s daily updates with the Fire Centres regarding the fire complex. We will keep in touch when we are part of that process.
Overall conditions remain the same, the perimeter has been updated since yesterday. Winds have been southerly with rains expected in the next two days.
C10467 – Swede Creek – 1,815 hectares
Current fire is approximately 2-3km southwest of Batnuni Lake, and heading east/northeast. It is 32km from Kluskus IR1 and approximately 22km from the road. Currently aviation, 13 pieces of equipment, and 100 personnel including 4 initial attack crews, thermal imaging helicopter. Fire grew nearly 1,100 Ha in one day. BC Wildfire claims their back burns have been successful on the southern flank. It is now 1,815 Ha.
