Kluskus IR 1 is not on Alert or in any immediate danger, this is just a community update regarding the fires in the territory. We will be posting updates as we receive them from BC Wildfire Service and the Fire Centres.
The G10952 Kluskoil Lake fire has shown no new growth and is nearing the contained stage.
There are currently 40 personnel and 12 pieces of heavy equipment working on the fire. Fire activity remains primarily on the ground, with no canopy fire or candling observed.
Because the fire is located within the park, BC Wildfire Service is using alternative firefighting methods where possible to help protect the integrity of the surrounding area.
Significant rain is expected on Saturday. The rainfall may help further suppress the fire and will provide an opportunity to test the strength of the established fire guards. Crews are hopeful the fire can soon be classified as contained.
