Lhoosk’uz Dené Nation is proud to congratulate Archie Chantyman on receiving the B.C. Medal of Good Citizenship. This provincial honour recognizes people who have shown exceptional kindness, generosity, and selfless service to others without expecting anything in return.
Archie has spent decades preserving and sharing Dakelh language, culture, and traditions. Through his leadership and willingness to share his experiences, he has helped others learn, heal, and stay connected to their identity.
Many people have joined Archie on his March with Arch, the annual walk to the former St. Joseph’s Mission Residential School. The march has become a powerful opportunity to honour Survivors, reflect on our shared history, and walk together toward healing and reconciliation.
We are proud to see Archie recognized for the impact he has made in our Nation and beyond.
We hope this recognition inspires our youth and all our members to learn from our Elders, take pride in who they are, and remember that every act of kindness and service helps strengthen our Nation.
