Subject: Dividend Cheque Pickup & Voting on Custom Election Code
This memo is to remind members of two important activities taking place on Friday, May 15, along with additional details to support your participation.
1. Dividend Cheque Pickup
Dividend cheques will be available for pickup at the Quesnel Seniors’ Centre at 461 Carson Ave. from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Eligibility
- All registered Nation members are eligible.
- Members aged 19 and older will receive cheques directly.
- Dividends for members aged 0–18 will be held in trust.
Receiving Your Cheque
- Members are expected to pick up their cheque in person.
- If you are unable to attend, please contact reception or Council to arrange an alternative.
- Cheques not picked up in person will be mailed or direct deposited the following week. To receive direct deposit, members must provide a void cheque.
Identification Requirements
- Identification is required where available.
- If you do not have ID, staff will work with you to verify your identity.
- The Nation is also working with local banks to support cheque cashing for verified members without identification.
2. Advance Poll – Custom Election Code Ratification
The advance vote to ratify the Custom Election Code will also take place on May 15, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Quesnel Seniors’ Centre.
- Voting is open to members only.
- The voting process is being administered by a third party, OneFeather Mobile Technologies, which specializes in Indigenous voting and elections.
- A legal expert will be on-site throughout the day to answer questions and offer insight and interpretation of the Custom Election Code.
- The full Custom Election Code can be viewed online by following the instructions in the official Notice of Vote from OneFeather. It will be available for in-person review at the voting location.
Members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to both collect their dividend cheque and participate in the advance vote.
The Final Poll will be held on May 29 at the Quesnel Seniors’ Centre.
